2012 Festivals in Historic Wallace and the Silver Valley

Every year sees an amazing range of festivals that help make this the most fascinating small town in America! On this page, I present an enhanced version of the 2012 Wallace Chamber of Commerce Events Calendar. Many Silver Valley events are also included. Several of Wallace's festivals are large enough to warrant their own pages, complete with photos and forms.

First Annual Wallace Blues Festival

For the last 18 years, on the second weekend in July, there has been a popular Blues Festival in Ritzville, Washington. When they announced this spring that they no longer wanted to host the event, our town stepped forward to sponsor it. As a result, there will be various blues artists and bands around town, inside and outside, playing Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening. On Saturday, July 14, Cedar Street will be blocked off from Seventh to Fifth Street, Sixth Street will be blocked off from Bank to Pine Street, and local and regional blues bands will play from 11:30 AM to 10:30 PM on a Main Stage, erected the night before next to City Hall. Main Stage Acts to appear include:

On Saturday, there will be other acoustic blues musicians at the festival beer garden, the SmokeHouse and the Red Light Garage.
Plus these artists were added at the last minute to make sure that we are indeed Puttin' on the Ritz
  • Grant Smith
  • Anita Royce & The High Rollers
These three bands will appear at local establishments on Friday, July 13:

A photographic reprise of the Saturday performances at our highly successful first annual Blues Festival is present at

A photographic portrayal of the evolving ambiance on Saturday is present at

High Mountain ATV Association
This was the 18th ATV Jamboree and Rodeo in Wallace, and by all accounts, one of the best. Although 310 out-of-town ATV's were registered and another 42 were ridden by local volunteers, the impact on the town was only positive. Normally, our streets are full of ATV's during the summer (and snowmobiles during the winter), so the full extent of the Jamboree was only obvious during their traditional parade through town. It was estimated that about 70% of our visitors were from Canada, with representation from many other States, including California, Indiana and Vermont.

20 2012 Wallace Halloween Bash and Chamber of Commerce Fundraiser

2012 Wallace Halloween Bash and Chamber of Commerce Fundraiser
This traditional October event is the Wallace Chamber’s primary fundraiser of the year, and is vital to keeping the visitors center open and the chamber office staffed. This year we will have a Halloween Bash, complete with live and silent auctions, casino games, entertainment, a great dinner and a costume contest. The party will be held at the Elks Lodge. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Auction items are starting to come in, including a 2001 Chrysler 300M donated by Dave Smith Motors, a stay-and-play from the Coeur d’Alene Casino, passes at Silver Mountain and Lookout Pass ski areas, a two-night stay at Mullan House, tickets to local museums, a cowboy basket that includes horseback riding lessons, and much more. However, more donations are always needed and appreciated to ensure a fun and successful event. The evening begins at 5:30 PM with silent auction bidding and casino games. Dinner prepared by Sano Haldi will be served at 6:30 PM. The live auction will follow. After the auction closes, party goers are invited to dance to the music of local favorites, One Gun and the Longshots. To add to the festivities, attendees are encouraged to dress in Halloween attire and be eligible for costume contest prizes.
