With so much going on, I couldn't see everything, but here
are the performers that I was able to photograph.
-
HooDoo Udu
- Made up of several amazing long time area musicians, but a newer Northwest
blues band that we hope to give the live showcase they deserve. This band creates
a modern blues sound with a strong rock edge, showcasing powerful female vocals,
an unbelievable guitarist, a solid, aggressive bassist, and an amazing,
rock-steady drummer.
- The Pat Coast Band
- From the band Café Blue in 1990 and then
The Pat Coast Band since 1999, this Idaho native and beloved regular
at all the great Northwest festivals for many years has thrilled many
a blues audience. Blues Revue Magazine said of this band
"Coast combines rockabilly fire with greasy swing licks on his axe...
juicy stuff!"
- Grant Smith
-
Grant's music is a combination of genres and styles.
Blues, rock, ballads, jazz and classical influence his writing and playing.
His acoustic style is full and unique, and his wide range of songs tell
stories relatable to many audiences. Prior to his move to a quiet
mountain-bound lake in Idaho, Grant resided and performed in Florida,
California and Colorado.
- Anita Royce and The High Rollers
- The music of the High Rollers is described as "Rockin' Blues
and Jump Swing." They provide a high energy show with
Anita Royce's sultry vocals and guitar leads, Forest Govedare's
soulful guitar, with Jimi the Keys and his inspirational wit on
the weighted eighty eights. Art Donnelly on bass and Doug McQuain
on drums are a groovin' rhythm section. Anita has been called
the Queen of the Blues by Sammy Eubanks.

Anita invited Jamie Baker, the owner of the Red Light Garage
(restaurant) and his saxophone to join her for a couple of
songs. He blended perfectly!
